Idaho River Sports is excited to offer H2O Idaho's course on the basics of whitewater safety and more. This is an ACA Level 4 Swift Water Rescue Course that will cover the essentials of accident prevention and management, hazard recognition, self-rescue, boat-based rescue, whitewater swimming and basic rope techniques. We will also learn more advanced skills including advanced rope rescue techniques, unpinning and extrication, entrapment rescues and the use of swift water rescue vests.
The two day course includes a dry land class at Idaho River Sports on May 5, 2019 and a day spent on the Salmon River at Riggins, Idaho on May 11th with hands-on learning scenarios in whitewater situations. This course is physically demanding with participants needing to be comfortable swimming in Class II+ whitewater rapids.

All rescue equipment will be provided. Participants must have suitable gear like a dry suits, PFD, gloves and river shoes. We will review gear requirements during the dry land class to make sure you're equipped for the river day.
