At Idaho River Sports, we’re proud to say we’re opting outside once again on Black Friday, inspired by REI’s movement to break away from the typical holiday sales frenzy.

This decision reflects our core values, prioritizing time in the outdoors over consumerism and giving our team the chance to recharge in nature. Instead of long lines and crowded stores, we hope this day will be filled with fresh air, open spaces, and quiet moments by the water for our employees—just as we encourage our customers to find joy and balance outdoors, in their own way.

Our staff are here because they love rivers, trails, and Idaho’s beautiful landscapes, and we want to honor that. Black Friday, for us, is an invitation to reconnect with the natural world we all work so hard to protect and enjoy. Whether it’s a serene paddle on Quinn’s Pond or a hike in the foothills, we want this day to be about unwinding and remembering why we do what we do. Our team will return refreshed and inspired, ready to help you with your adventures.
